About Us

I am the mom part of the Bradley family, aka the Sattvic Family, as we strive to be as holistic and peaceful as possible.

I’m an unintentionally complex person, and normally very apologetic about it. I’m British American ( passport wise Brit) but consider Antibes, France home, as we began living half of every year there from the time I was 5 onward. Because of my father’s job, we traveled nonstop between Europe, Asia, and the Midwest of America, the latter of which was not a pleasant experience for me; the town that we were in was a hell hole that basically hated anyone who was not blond or ‘normal’. Cruelty was rampant, homophobia, racism, and all forms of bullying pervasive, but because of the town’s ‘charm'( aka bed and breakfasts and verdant parks) no one ever talks about this. It is an ignored issue, although I think it may change in years to come.

Due to a number of factors, I went to boarding school from age 12, first at Shattuck Saint Mary’s and then at the CIV in Sophia Antipolis. Some years I was an A student, some I failed 3 or more classes. At the end of the day, I feel I learned much more by reading, writing, traveling, and conversing with people. And even more then all those, by being kind. Kindness is the best teacher, I swear.

All of this has create a travel and food addict. I call myself a holistic gastronome, who eats a mainly vegan diet but sometimes has fish or organic dairy.

My love affair with writing began at age 10 or 11, and I was published for poetry a number of times. John Bellairs and various horror writers inspired me then and now, but my obsession with literature still reigns supreme, and Aldous Huxley is my favorite author. I normally write horror, dark fantasy, or philosophical essays, although I am working on self publishing a book about how we live and unschool.

I’m also an aesthete, philomath, Vedantist, and MAJOR gamer, as well as an interfaith minister working on my doctorate.

My better half is ‘holistic dad’, an actor and amazing father. Our 3 year old unvaccinated and unschooled daughter Kaya Alaqua is a very intense child, sensitive and compassionate. We have two cats and our pom Miki Takemura.

We currently live in Phuket, Thailand. Before that, Cortona Italy. Before that, Paju South Korea. We get around a lot.

This blog chronicles our journeys as a holistic unschooling family traveling the world. We are artists, so it also has some obscure stuff as well.
